SENDAS ACADEMY
UN SEMESTRE PER SCEGLIERE CON CONSAPEVOLEZZA
Sendas Academy is a vocational and educational discernment programme based in Rionegro, in the Antioquia region of Colombia. It is aimed at Colombian teenagers who have just finished high school and are generally aged between 16 and 17. At this age, they are often not yet ready to make important decisions about their future. For this reason, Sendas Academy offers a semester dedicated to self-discovery before participants embark on university or enter the world of work. During these time, participants experience a variety of activities, including academic exercises to explore their intellectual interests and abilities, volunteering and community service to connect with others and get involved, and practical experiences to learn through hands-on engagement.
The programme aims to help each young person get to know themselves better, mature in their choices and acquire the tools to guide their lives in a freer and more conscious way. The programme is led by a permanent trainer and enriched by the presence of local and international volunteers who support the young people throughout this unique experience.
